Non-Discrimination and Equality Tribunal prohibited the Public employment and business authorities to continue discriminating a student who had applied for the unemployment benefit to finance her studies. The tribunal also ordered the authority to take reasonable accommodation measures for the student

A design school was convicted for discrimination prohibited in the Penal Code for the discrimination of a deaf student and awarded compensation according to the Non-Discrimination 

Non-Discrimination and Equality Tribunal prohibited a bank to discriminate a blind customer by denying her the entry passwords needed to use the bank account electronically. The Tribunal imposed a conditional fine of EUR 50,000 in order to enforce compliance with its injunction

The Finnish Parliament passed The Act on the Ratification of Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Optional Protocol. Unusually, the delivery of ratification documents is postponed until the elected new parliament has passed legislation on the right of patients and clients to self-determination.
The reform of anti-discrimination legislation which started in 2007 was passed in late December. The reform extends the scope of application of the anti-discrimination legislation to all areas of life and provides protection against discrimination to an open ended list of protected grounds.
The reform of anti-discrimination legislation which has been in preparation since 2007 has been presented to the parliament. The reform would expand the scope of the application of the legislation and the protected grounds of discrimination significantly.
National Discrimination Tribunal prohibited ethnic discrimination because of Roma background in the renting of an apartment.
Denial of entry into a shop of a person using wheelchair constituted discrimination prohibited in Penal Code
Ministry of Justice publishes a new draft for anti-discrimination legislation. The legislation would extend the prohibition of discrimination to all public and private sector activities on multiple grounds.
